Darla Armstrong Stone is a vibrant community leader who advocates for women’s health. She has more than 30 years’ physician clinic leadership experience. She serves on the Iowa Healthcare Leaders Association (IHLA), formerly known as Iowa Medical Group Managers Association (IMGMA).

Darla met Maanya Pandey during Maanya’s internship with West Des Moines OBGYN Associates. Like so many others, Darla was shocked to learn that period poverty was so prevalent in Iowa and the Des Moines Metro. When Maanya asked her to join the Love for Red Advisor Board, the answer was “yes.”

Darla spent her early years in Minneapolis and Northeast Iowa before moving to Des Moines in 1995. She and her husband Kenneth live in West Des Moines. They have three children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Darla enjoys traveling, fine dining and enjoying time with friends, family, and her cat and dog.
